Pull-up Pro App by Runtastic

New enthusiasm for body weight exercise has seen me purchase the Pro-version pull-up & press-up Apps by Runtastic.
Well-thought out GUI and reminders are really helpful although initially pull-ups weren't being recorded. Solution? Classic method - delete app > reinstall > shut down phone > re-start App > log-in and bingo...all good!
Follow PRE principles and well paced - more pull-ups achieved in 2 weeks then ever before!
Kind regards,
Owen

Christmas 2012

Well, Mr. Jamie Oliver...it was nice to have you in my kitchen again in 2012. Ultimate make-ahead gravy done, Snickers ice-cream is sorted and for the first time, I've made my own bread sauce. But I am MOST proud of making the filo pastry mince pies with ginger & cranberries with my wife this morning!

The mystery of chronic pain...

http://www.ted.com/talks/elliot_krane_the_mystery_of_chronic_pain.html

Ever wondered why, months or years after an injury, patients still report pain?
I stumbled across this link a while ago which a number of patients have found helpful in understanding their despair, depression and denial regarding symptoms that just wont go away.

In this 8min 15secs video, Dr Krane discuss "glial" cells and the change in how we view their role in chronic pain. No longer the passive "scaffold" support structures of the nervous system but rather, active (malevolent?) participants in the pain problem.

Isn't it time we started considering pain a disease? Need an update on glial cells...I know I did!

Best wishes,
Owen
